DMK minister’s assets multiply 780 times within five years. மக்களுக்கு மிக்சியும் கிரைண்டரும்,மந்திரிகளுக்கு கோடிகள்.
In five years of DMK rule, a state minister has multiplied his assets 780 times. At least that’s what the official figures show.[Times of India dated 23-3-2011]
Tamil Nadu food minister EV Velu, contesting from Tiruvannamalai assembly segment, declared at the time of the 2006 assembly polls that his assets were worth around Rs one lakh. Apart from a 1.1-acre agricultural plot in Pinjur village worth Rs 60,000, Velu had shown cash deposits of Rs 25,000 and jewellery worth Rs 15,000 five years ago. As per his affidavit, his wife did not own any assets then.
Now, five years later, the affidavit filed by Velu on Monday shows his assets have multiplied in every form - land,
buildings, jewellery and cash deposits. The 60-year-old minister and his wife are currently worth Rs 7.8 crore. He has bank deposits running into Rs 17.47 lakh, agricultural lands worth Rs 1.75 crore, buildings worth Rs 1.25 crore and a house valued at Rs 4.5 crore. In addition, his wife has jewellery that costs Rs 5.76 lakh and agricultural land worth Rs five lakh.
Election Commission has made it mandatory for candidates to declare their assets as well as those of all dependents.
Wealth of Anbarasan and Ponmudy too appreciated
State labour minister T M Anbarasan, contesting from Pallavaram assembly segment, has also seen a considerable appreciation in wealth during the five years in the state cabinet.
His listed assets have increased in value from 91.49 lakh in 2006 to 4.95 crore in 2011. They include those owned by his wife. One of the additions is a Mitsubishi Pajero, valued at 22.9 lakh.
He has also bought two buildings worth 25 lakh at Kundrathur in 2008 while his cash deposits have gone up from 10,866 to 20.6 lakh. There was no property in his wife’s name in 2006, but she owns properties worth 55 lakh at present.
Higher education minister K Ponmudy perhaps does not believe in depreciation of assets. He had a tractor worth 2.39 lakh and a trailer worth 50,000 five years ago. And he values the two vehicles at the same price even today.
He owns a pistol worth 10,000. His and his wife’s assets put together are worth 7.17 crore now, an increase of 2.45 times since 2006.
Without taking any action for raising the living level of poor people these political people are telling that they will give free Mixy and Grinder, if the people elect them in the election to rule again.
The people must take a vow and tell the politicians that they don’t want any freebies for their vote, but they want curb in the price raise in all commodities, free education in all engg and other colleges, and employment for their children. The politicians are dreaming the people are like dogs and throwing mixy and Grinder as bread slices. It will be great insult for the citizens to accept these bread slices from the corrupted politicians.

Officials said they would be questioned in connection with the flow of over Rs.200 crore from Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Balwa's DB Realty firm to Kalaignar TV, a regional Tamil channel in which Karunanidhi's family members allegedly have a majority stake.
While Kanimozhi is said to have 20 percent stake in the TV channel, Dayalu Amma has 60 percent stake. The balance 20 percent is with Kalaignar TV managing director Sharat Kumar, it is learnt.
It is stated that without giving any assurance to DMK in 2g Spectrum episode, Congress has got 63 seats in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. We have to wait and see, whether this alliance will have co-operation in the Assembly elections.

Karuna’s notice and Swamy seeks governor’s nod to prosecute Karuna.
A day after chief minister M Karunanidhi sent a legal notice to Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy for alleging that he was a beneficiary in the 2G spectrum scam, Swamy went on the offensive by seeking permission from governor Surjit Singh Barnala to prosecute Karunanidhi for allegedly allotting land to a “favoured few” under the government’s discretionary quota (GDQ) in “violation” of rules.
Speaking to reporters on Monday 7-2-2011 after submitting his petition at the governor’s office (he could not meet Barnala), Swamy said, “He (Karunanidhi) has violated every rule and allotted land to a favoured few.”
Swamy claimed he had enough evidence to prove the charges and that he had sought permission from the governor to approach a special court to file criminal cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the CM and others.
AIADMK Chief Jayalalitha supported Swamy for including Karunanidhi in the 2g Spectrum scam.

Corruption Congress!
Corruption Congress!
The Congress party and the UPA government are already battling daily with various allegations of corruption. Tamil weekly magazine Ananda Vikatan in its issue dated 2-2-2011 has explained the continuing scams in Congress-UPA Goverbment giving tile as “Corruption Congress”. We are telling the Tamil story thro “You Tube.”
2G Spectrum Scam.
Former Telecom Minister A Raja was today [2-2-2011] arrested along with his two former associates in connection with the 2G spectrum scam. Raja arrived at the CBI headquarters this morning, a day after his brother A K Perumal was questioned by the CBI about alleged funding of some front organisations owned by Telecom companies which had been allocated spectrum from October 2007 to January 2008, official sources said.
Raja, his former personal secretary R K Chandolia and former Telecom Secretary Siddartha Behura were arrested for allegedly abusing their official position and manipulating the tendering procedures to benefit certain telecom companies in getting the spectrum.
Raja was forced to resign on November 14 last year in the wake of the CAG report which held that the spectrum allocation at undervalued prices resulted in a notional loss of Rs 1.76 lakh crore to the state exchequer.
CWG Scam.
The Shunglu Committee has indicted Lalli and Aruna Sharma for allegedly causing Rs. 135 crore loss to the exchequer in awarding to the British firm the broadcasting rights for the Commonwealth Games.
The Shunglu report said: "There were deliberate delays in following schedules, creating emergency situations leaving virtually no option for re-tender or for exploring other competitive avenues in the face of high rates quoted".
"Acts of omission and commission, including suppression of critical information necessary for informed decisions, undue favours to service providers, inappropriate changes in contractual terms and terms and conditions and false recording of minutes by key functionaries were also observed," the report added.
Adarsh scam
A day after registering a case in the Adarsh Housing Society scam, the CBI carried out searches at premises in Maharashtra and Bihar of three main accused, including a retired Army officer and a Congress leader, named in the FIR.
The searches were conducted at the residences and other places of the society's general secretary R.C. Thakur, retired Brigadier M M Wanchoo and Congress leader K.L. Gidwani in various parts of Maharashtra and Bihar.
The office of the Adarsh society located in posh Colaba here was among the places raided. The raids come a day after the CBI filed an FIR naming 13 people, including former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and some retired senior Army officials.
Bofors scam
The Bofors ghost returned to haunt the Congress party with an income tax tribunal saying that kickbacks of Rs 41 crore were paid to late Win Chaddha and Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi in the Howitzer gun deal and that they are liable to pay tax in India on such income.
Quattrocchi was known to be close to the Gandhi family and tribunal's observations in the Bofors episode may have come at an inopportune time for the Congress and the government. Quattrocchi left India in 1993 even as a CBI case was filed on kickbacks in the deal.
People must take a vow in not voting for the corrupted politicians.

Indians are having the legitimate right to hoist the National flag anywhere in India.
Indians are having the legitimate right to hoist the National flag anywhere in India.
Jammu-Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is determined not to let BJP leaders hold a public meeting on Tuesday [25-1-2011] that is part of the party’s march to Srinagar to hoist the Indian flag in the J&K summer capital on Republic Day. Imposing restrictions on assembly under the criminal code, the state government asked BJP leaders to return to Delhi.
The drama at Jammu airport was still unfolding late on Monday]24-1-2011] evening with BJP leaders turning down requests by the state administration and Union home minister P Chidambaram to leave the city. The administration appears wary of arresting the Opposition leaders as this could give BJP political mileage but is not allowing entry either.
A BJP youth wing leader claimed that around 200 BJP activists had reached Srinagar to attempt to hoist the flag at Lal Chowk’s clock tower on January 26th. BJP leaders rejected Chidambaram’s suggestion that they had made their point and should leave. The only point made, they told the home minister, was that the state government was preventing entry into Jammu itself.
Sushma Swaraj and Jaitley, leaders of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, and Kumar first sat on the tarmac of Jammu airport after the authorities ordered them back to Delhi saying the party’s march to Srinagar to hoist the national flag on the Republic Day and rallies elsewhere wouldn’t be allowed.
In our opinion Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. So hoisting national flag anywhere in India could be performed by any citizen of the nation. Why this confusion? Whichever government, in any of the states, should provide protection to Indian national flag and those hoisting it in any public place. Why Omar Abdullah is afraid of it?
If flag hoisting on 26th in Srinagar is denied that will be the saddest day of our country as it will be the beginning of India breaking into parts as all fundamentalists, extremists will learn to challenge our sovereignty. Hence let us not make it happen and keep our mother India as one.
Omar Abdullah should remember that the Lal Chowk is within Indian Territory and he should in fact deal firmly with those opposing it. Our Independence was brought up on the bloodshed of lakhs of Indians. Every Indians are having the legitimate right to hoist the National flag on the Republic day on any places he like in India. Let Indian Unite to save our country. More in “You Tube” Videos.
